Located in Buffalo, NY, Parkside Candy has been in existence since 1927. They are famous for their sponge candy. Anyone from the Buffalo area who comes into our store does a little jump for joy when they see the familiar brown and gold box. They are always pleasantly surprised that we carry it. In fact, you’ll have a tough time finding it anywhere else on the West Coast.

The candy itself is a combination of crunchy, airy and chewy. Each piece is made up of a honeycomb center and an outer dark chocolate layer that is just the right thickness, providing the perfect balance. Yum!

A good friend of the store invited us to be a part of a trunk show at her house this week.  All of the vendors donated a part of their proceeds to Raphael House - established in 1971, the first shelter in San Francisco for homeless families.   A few days before Halloween, I had the great pleasure of meeting some of the children who live at Raphael House, when they took an after-school field trip to the store.   I was told afterwards that it made the kids’ day - mine as well.  I’m honored to have been part of such wonderful events. 

First place winner, Peter, pandered shamelessly to the judges, not only dressing as candy, but singing the entire Oompa Loompa song from Willy Wonka. Shameless pandering is rewarded highly at The Candy Store. Remember that next year, kids! Peter won a filled gumball machine.

Second place winner, Tyler, impressed us with his realistic rendition of a racecar driver. Ricky Bobby would be proud. Tyler walked away with his own candy bin filled with gummi bears.

Third place winner, Alexandra, was, well, just too cute in her ladybug costume - we had no choice but to present her with a $5 gift certificate to the store.

Many of you are already aware that we specialize in providing candy for gifts, favors and events of all kinds. A: Wow!

A: Yorkie bars, Clark bars and Zagnuts.

A: Skateboarding, playing guitar and soccer.

Note:  Miles is such a nice kid that he bought his friend candy with part of the gift certificate he received for his birthday from his sister.   He also knows so much about the candy in our store, that we’ve extended him an offer of employment when he’s older.

A: I was thinking, I want candy!

A: Lego candies, pixie stix, fun-dip, puntini fruit chips and razzles.

A: Tomorrow.

A.  I like candy and gum.  I like eating.  I like school, especially recess and lunch.  I like dancing.  I like decorations and parties!

Fun Facts: Peter is very excited to be starting Kindergarten in a couple of weeks.  He also thinks everyone should come to The Candy Store because "it’s a good place that has lots of good candy and nice people."
