Have you heard of sponge candy? I honestly wasn’t quite sure what it was until seeing it here at The Candy Store. Think honeycomb covered in chocolate. Think Violet Crumble (which we carry). Think Crunchie, for those familiar with candies from the UK, which we also carry. Our sponge candy, which gets so many excited, is by an East Coast confectioner.

Located in Buffalo, NY, Parkside Candy has been in existence since 1927. They are famous for their sponge candy. Anyone from the Buffalo area who comes into our store does a little jump for joy when they see the familiar brown and gold box. They are always pleasantly surprised that we carry it. In fact, you’ll have a tough time finding it anywhere else on the West Coast.

The candy itself is a combination of crunchy, airy and chewy. Each piece is made up of a honeycomb center and an outer dark chocolate layer that is just the right thickness, providing the perfect balance. Yum!
