Marshmallow-y Perfection…
March 31, 2008
Growing up in New York, Fluff was my favorite thing, and I could easily satisfy my constant craving for it because just about every local grocery store kept it in stock. The “Fluffernutter,” a peanut butter and Fluff sandwich, might just be the most perfect sandwich ever created. When we moved to San Francisco over a decade ago, I discovered to my horror that you could not find Fluff anywhere.
Instead, supermarkets on the West Coast carry a god-awful imitation marshmallow spread by another company that I wouldn’t even use to put up wallpaper. Because of this, every time one of my family members or friends would come out to visit me, I would force them to mule a jar or two of the real thing. Since we opened last year, I’ve been trying to get the makers of Fluff to reduce their supermarket-chain-quantity minimums, so that I could sell it at our store. Well, I finally succeeded, and we now have the precious white goodness in stock. I know it may not “technically” be candy, but this is the one exception I must make. One taste of it and you’ll understand why.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
You stayed open for me, I got the FLUFF, and can now make a real live honest-to-goodness Fluffernutter sandwich for my best friend’s birthday. This is why we need independent businesses like yours; you develop real relationships with your customers and treat us like you appreciate our business as much as we appreciate the service you offer!
I can always count on the Candy Store for gifts for my hard-to-shop-for friends. The nostalgia factor alone is simply brilliant!
